Please practice identifying, reading, and writing our sight words with your child at home.
In Reader's Workshop, we continue to explore our fourth unit, Becoming Avid Readers. This week, we reviewed three ways to "play" during workshop. We can play school, play games, and play pretend. Our focus this week during reading playdates was playing games. We introduced the "what's next" and "what's the feeling" games. Please ask your child to show you how to play our two prediction games.
During Read Aloud this week we began our themed story sets. This week's theme was the importance of friendship. Some stories we read this week were A Visitor for Bear, Big Al and Shrimpy, I'm the Best, and Jessica. We shared similarities and differences in all of our friendship books.
